This Privacy Policy explains how Bee Bundle Team (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Bee Bundle Upsell Discounts app (the “App”), which merchants install on their Shopify stores.
This document is a general template and does not constitute legal advice. You should review it with your own legal counsel before relying on it.
1. Who we are & how to contact us
Bee Bundle Upsell Discounts is a Shopify app that helps merchants create and manage upsell and discount deals (such as volume discounts, bundles, and BOGO offers) and measure the additional revenue generated by those deals.
Bee Bundle Team is the provider of the App. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you can contact us at:
- Email: [email protected]
- Address: Finanskent Mah. Prof. Hasan Küçük Cad. No: 6 Sinpaş Finans Şehir Palas Etabı Blok:4 Daire:63 Ümraniye İstanbul 34760
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information we process about:
- Merchants who install and use the App on their Shopify store; and
- Merchants’ customers and visitors whose data is processed by the App on behalf of merchants.
As a Shopify app, we generally act as a processor (or “service provider”) for our merchant customers, who remain responsible for their own privacy and cookie notices on their storefronts.
3. Information we collect via Shopify APIs
When you install the App, we automatically gain access to certain data from your Shopify account via Shopify’s APIs and webhooks, in accordance with the permissions you approve during installation. Depending on your configuration, this may include:
- Store and merchant information
Store name, shop domain, contact email, Shopify plan type, locale, currency, and other configuration data needed to run the App. - Product and catalog data
Products, variants, collections, pricing, and availability information needed to create and display deals on your storefront. - Discounts and deals
Discount codes, automatic discounts, app discounts, and related configurations, so that we can create, manage, and track discounts that are associated with your deals. - Orders and revenue data
Orders and draft orders (including line items, quantities, discounts, totals, currency, and limited customer information) so that we can:- attribute “additional revenue” to specific deals,
- enforce sales limits and plan limits, and
- calculate usage and analytics metrics.
- Subscription and billing information
Information about your Shopify app subscription with us (for example, plan name, billing interval, price, status, and current period) that is required to offer, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel plans and to validate subscription discount codes. - Theme and app embed status
Limited theme/app embed information to determine whether our widgets are correctly installed and visible on your storefront.
4. Information we collect directly from merchants
In addition to data we receive through Shopify, we may collect the following information directly from you when you use the App:
- Account and profile information
Information you provide when configuring the App such as internal deal names, labels, display texts, and other settings. - Communications and support
When you contact us for support (for example via email or chat), we collect the content of your messages and any contact details you share. The App may integrate a third‑party support/chat tool (such as Crisp) which will process your contact details and message content in accordance with its own privacy policy. - Usage and log data
Technical logs about how you use the App in the Shopify admin, such as pages visited, actions taken (for example creating or editing a deal), timestamps, and error messages. These logs help us troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and secure the App.
5. Information we process about merchants’ customers
On behalf of merchants, Bee Bundle Upsell Discounts processes limited personal data about customers and visitors to the merchant’s Shopify store. This includes:
- Order and checkout data
We access order details (such as purchased products, quantities, prices, discounts applied, currency, and limited customer contact and address information) via Shopify APIs and webhooks. We use this data to attribute revenue to specific deals and to calculate plan usage and analytics metrics. - Storefront event data
Our storefront widgets and scripts record events such as impressions, clicks, add‑to‑cart actions, and purchases related to your deals. These events typically include:- Shop domain and internal deal identifiers;
- Timestamps and URLs or page identifiers;
- Information sent by the browser (for example, user‑agent string and referrer); and
- Technical information derived from network requests (for example, IP address and approximate location). Where possible, we hash or otherwise minimize IP addresses before storing them in our analytics database.
We do not use merchants’ customer data to contact those customers directly, nor do we sell that data to third parties.
6. How we use the information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- Providing and operating the App
To create, display, and manage deals; apply discounts through Shopify; enforce plan limits; and show widgets on the storefront. - Analytics and reporting for merchants
To calculate impressions, clicks, conversions, additional revenue, and other performance metrics for your deals and store. - Billing and subscription management
To offer free and paid plans, process plan upgrades/downgrades, apply subscription discount codes, and verify billing status with Shopify. - Support and communication
To respond to your questions, provide technical support, and send you important notices about the App (for example, service or policy updates). - Improvement and security
To monitor usage patterns, debug issues, develop new features, and protect the App, merchants, and customers from fraud or abuse. - Legal compliance
To comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
7. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where required by law (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases to process personal data:
- Performance of a contract with merchants (providing the App);
- Our legitimate interests in improving and securing the App, provided these interests are not overridden by the rights and interests of individuals; and
- Compliance with legal obligations and with Shopify’s App requirements.
8. Sharing of information
We share personal data only as necessary to provide the App and as described below:
- With Shopify
We exchange data with Shopify as required to operate the App within the Shopify platform. Shopify’s use of data is governed by its own terms and policies. - With service providers
We use trusted third‑party service providers to host our infrastructure and databases (including analytics databases), send transactional emails, provide customer support/chat, and perform other technical operations. These providers may process personal data on our behalf only in accordance with our instructions and this Privacy Policy. - For legal reasons
We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bee Bundle C, our merchants, or others. - Business transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in control where required by law.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
9. International data transfers
Our infrastructure and the services we use may be located in different countries. As a result, personal data may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions that may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
We take appropriate steps to protect personal data in accordance with applicable laws, for example by using contractual protections where required.
10. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the App to you, to comply with our legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. The specific retention period may vary depending on the type of data and the purpose of processing.
When a merchant uninstalls the App, we stop collecting new data for that store. We will then either delete or irreversibly anonymize personal data associated with that store within a reasonable period, subject to any data we must retain for legal or regulatory reasons or for legitimate business purposes (for example, security logs and aggregated statistics that no longer identify individuals).
11. Data rights and choices
Depending on your location, you and your customers may have certain rights in relation to personal data, such as rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or data portability.
Because we generally act as a processor for merchants, individuals who wish to exercise their rights regarding data processed via a specific Shopify store should contact that merchant directly. We will assist our merchants in responding to such requests where we are able.
Merchants can also contact us at [email protected] if they need our help to access, correct, export, or delete data stored by the App.
12. Merchants’ responsibilities
Merchants are responsible for ensuring that their use of the App and the information they provide to us complies with applicable laws. This includes:
- Providing their own privacy and cookie notices on their Shopify store that accurately describe their use of Bee Bundle Upsell Discounts and any tracking or analytics implemented through the App.
- Obtaining all necessary consents or providing appropriate notices to their customers, where required by law.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Children
The App is intended for use by businesses and is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify merchants by posting an updated version here and, where appropriate, through the App or by email.
Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any updated Privacy Policy will constitute your acknowledgment of the changes.
